The New York Islanders were more concerned about the condition of teammate Alexander Romanov after a tense 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars that added another statement victory to a remarkable road trip.

Given the force at which Romanov collided with the boards after a hit from behind courtesy of Mikko Rantanen, it would have been quite the surprise to see Romanov avoid missing any time. With the move to IR, the 25-year-old defenseman will be sidelined at least the next three games, though it could certainly be longer.

Upper-body injuries are becoming a significant theme for Romanov. The 25-year-old blueliner missed 18 games due to upper-body ailments last season, and has already missed five this year for the same reason.
