After years of rumors about a fourth installment in the action-comedy franchise, Brett Ratner is allegedly returning to direct
Rush Hour 4 is reportedly in the works at Paramount, which merged with Skydance Media earlier this year. According to multiple outlets, the green light for the production was all thanks to Donald Trump, who allegedly put in a personal request for the company to start production on the fourth Brett Ratner -directed installment.
In what looks like an effort to shape pop culture, Trump personally pressed Larry Ellison, the largest shareholder of Paramount, to revive “Rush Hour,” the 1990s and 2000s buddy-cop comedy starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, according to Semafor. Ellison is also a friend of Trump.
The long-running buddy cop franchise is gearing up for a return as Paramount has come aboard to distribute the next Rush Hour sequel, which Brett Ratner is returning to direct. I’m not sure how he managed to weasel his way back into the director’s chair,
