Gainesville may sue after GHSA upholds player suspensions
Gainesville is considering legal action after GHSA upheld suspensions for 35 players involved in last week’s playoff brawl.
The Georgia High School Association placed a one-year postseason ban on Brunswick — among other sanctions — in response to a fight with Gainesville in the second-round playoff game Friday, Brunswick announced in a statement Tuesday. Forty-one Brunswick players were also suspended. The school was fined $5,000.

Vehicle crashes into real estate agency in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Employees at a Gainesville real estate agency arrived at work Tuesday morning to find their building damaged. A vehicle crashed into the Mills Group of Keller Williams office on Northwest Eighth Avenue overnight. The vehicle hit the building outside the employee breakroom.
Lindsey also questioned the interpretation of a GHSA rule that says ejected players who enter the field are subject to suspension. Lindsey noted that the game officials did not eject any players who entered the field and that they should not be subject to automatic suspensions but judged in context.

Gainesville parks extend hours thanks to new lighting systems
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — Five Gainesville parks can now stay open later thanks to new and upgraded lighting systems installed through a nearly two-year project. City officials said the lighting allows residents to use the parks at night. The improvements include courts and athletic fields.
