It all adds up to this: If Wilson struggles early against a brutal schedule (Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs, Chargers), Daboll could turn to Dart sooner rather than later, as the hot-seat coach tries to keep his job.

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart gave New York Giants fans reasons to be optimistic about the team's future via his first two preseason outings in August. It sounds like Dart is also quickly becoming a favorite among his teammates.

Once the regular season begins those strides will continue to be taken by Dart behind the scenes, in meetings and practices away from the scrutiny of media and the fans. That, though, won’t last forever. Dart’s time is coming.
