Morgan Geyser was charged with attempted homicide at age 12 after saying she stabbed a friend to appease the fictional Slender Man.

The woman convicted of brutally stabbing her sixth grade classmate to please the fictional horror character “Slender Man” was apprehended in Illinois after having left her Wisconsin group home, officials said.

Authorities searched for Morgan Geyser, one of the two people convicted in the Slender Man stabbing, after police say she cut off her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and left a Madison group home Saturday night. The Madison Police Department shared an approximate timeline of the incident and the overnight attempts to locate her.
