For the holiday, lake-effect snow is likely to develop downwind of the Great Lakes. “Those traveling on Thanksgiving Day around the Great Lakes region may have to contend with typical lake-effect snow showers, which can result in reduced visibility and slippery travel,” Duff said.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a high temperature of only 55 degrees in Auburn on Saturday, even with partly sunny skies. But temperatures are expected to fall by game time. According to weather service forecasts the temperature at kickoff will be down to 47 degrees. By 9 p.m. it could be even colder: 44 degrees.

In the Portland metro area, rain is on the menu both Wednesday and Thursday with heavier showers on Thanksgiving day. Daytime high temperatures will linger in the low-to-mid 50s through Friday, and snow levels stay well above pass roads, so crossing the Cascades, in Oregon anyway, should be stress-free.
A big drop in temperatures is coming overnight Wednesday, so go ahead and pull out those flannels and blankets.
The National Weather Service said Long Island will see temperatures in the low 60s with a low chance of precipitation before temperatures drop into the mid-30s with gusts as strong as 32 mph at night.
