Three people are dead and several wounded after a shooting at a crowded New York City club early on Sunday morning.

A club shooting in the New York City borough of Brooklyn early Sunday morning has left three people dead and eight others wounded in a year of record low gun violence in the city.

The New York Police Department told The Sun that the gunfire took place at 1:20am local time after a "verbal dispute between two people escalated". A 65-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were shot, and an 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a wound to her neck.
