We’ve been authenticating footage posted online to gauge the scale of flooding which has killed at least 300 people in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir following intense rainfall.

Pakistan has received higher-than-normal monsoon rainfall this year, triggering floods and mudslides that have killed more than 540 people since June 26.

The Pakistan Army, under the special instructions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is continuing the distribution of rations among flood-affected people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Troops remain actively engaged in rescue and relief operations across flood-hit areas, including Buner, Shangla, and Swat.

Rescuers are looking for more than 150 people who were still missing on Monday in northwestern Pakistan, where scores died after the area was struck by a cloudburst. A senior politician blamed locals for the high death toll,

Rescuers in north-west Pakistan have pulled 63 more bodies from homes flattened by flash floods and landslides, raising the death toll from rain-related incidents to at least 220, officials said.
