Joshua Zirkzee wasted a golden opportunity to impress his boss Ruben Amorim on Monday as Manchester United lost 1-0 at home to Everton. With Benjamin Sesko unavailable due to a knee injury, Zirkzee was handed his first start of the season up top and failed to make any kind of impact in the 90 minutes he was on the pitch.
The hosts appeared to have been handed a boost from out of nowhere early on in the first-half when the Toffees went down to 10 men after Idrissa Gueye picked up a straight red card.
During his commentary on Monday night, Neville slammed Luke Shaw for his positioning, with the United legend wanting the 30-year-old to push further forward. Amorim did turn to his bench to try and inspire more creativity, but Neville wasn’t impressed by the changes made.
