The SEC went through Week 13 with very little change at the top of the standings. Most teams played Group of Five or FCS opponents, so the main contenders stayed in place heading into the final weekend.

The Group of Five is no cakewalk either. Tulane and Navy can reach the American title game by winning out but North Texas can get in if it wins and Navy loses to either Memphis or Army. Tulane was the only Group of Five team in the committee's last rankings, so James Madison needs the Green Wave to lose in order to have a shot at the CFP.

Florida and Auburn are among the teams on the move in the latest SEC power rankings entering a loaded rivalry week slate.

Following the win on Saturday, Lanning took a shot at SEC scheduling and the College Football Playoff Rankings. With a grin on his face, Lanning boasted about the fact that the Big Ten plays nine conference games while (presumably the SEC) spent most of their week playing bye-games.

The Volunteers reacted to their College Football Playoff hopes likely coming to an end by bludgeoning a hapless New Mexico State team at home. Josh Heupel can still win nine games for the fourth consecutive year if Tennessee wins out. That's something the program hasn't achieved since 1999. Last week: No. 8, beat New Mexico State 42-9
