Philadelphia were non-competitive against Orlando, and nowhere near the resilient team they have been for most of the season.
P HILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers got back at it on Tuesday with an NBA Cup matchup with the Orlando Magic. The Sixers entered the contest missing a number of key pieces such as Joel Embiid, Paul George, VJ Edgecombe, and Kelly Oubre Jr. which made this contest an uphill climb for Philadelphia.
Joel Embiid has not played since Nov. 8, and of what will now be eight consecutive absences, the last seven will be caused by an issue the Sixers continually characterize as day-to-day.
Regardless of who’s available, the 9-8 Sixers will expect a bounce-back performance when they face the 3-14 Nets. The team’s one blowout win so far is a 24-point victory on Nov. 2 in Brooklyn.
