The Texas measles outbreak that sickened 762 people since late January is over, state health officials said Monday.
Texas’ measles outbreak — which sickened hundreds of people and claimed the lives of two children this year — is officially over. Officials at the state public health department announced on Monday morning that it has now been more than 42 days since the last outbreak-connected measles case was reported. That means the state’s outbreak has ended.
Since late January, the virus sickened 762 people across the state, with nearly 100 hospitalized and two children losing their lives.
