Several companies have been targeted in a new Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday boycott aimed at denting profits of powerhouse businesses deemed aligned with the policies of President Donald Trump’s administration.

Thanksgiving Thursday is followed by Black Friday, which unofficially marks the beginning of the Christmas season and has grown to become a shopping festival over the years.

One retailer, the outdoor outfitter REI, is closed both Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. REI, which has stores in 44 states, including Michigan, has treated Black Friday as a paid holiday since 2015 as part of its #OptOutside tradition.

Black Friday 2025 sales have commenced early, with major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target launching significant discounts. This extended shopping period, running through Cyber Monday on December 1,
