Air Canada flight attendants ’ strike entered its fourth day on Tuesday, causing widespread disruption for hundreds of thousands of summer travellers, despite the union confirming that talks with the airline have resumed.

Air Canada and the union representing 10,000 striking flight attendants were holding early discussions on Monday night, the union said in a statement, the first such talks in nearly a week.

Flight attendants with Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge walked off the job on Saturday, forcing the national airline to ground all flights and begin cancelling customer bookings.

Canopy Growth shares rose by 5.6% to C$1.90 after the Canadian cannabis company said that it has appointed two new candidates to chief financial and operating officers of its U.S. subsidiary, Canopy USA, as it doubles down its focus on growth in the country.

Air Canada and the union representing 10,000 striking flight attendants will hold discussions on Monday night with a mediator, the union said in a statement.
