The Republican governors of West Virginia, South Carolina and Ohio announced they will deploy up to 750 members of the National Guard to Washington, D.C.

National Guard troops scaled up their presence in D.C. Thursday, with several stationed around the National Mall, at Union Station, on the subway, and other places.

After law enforcement set up a vehicle checkpoint along the busy 14th Street Northwest corridor, hecklers shouted, “Go home, fascists” and “Get off our streets.”
