A 23-year-old Wisconsin woman who stabbed a classmate in 2014 to please a fictional character called Slender Man has been recaptured in Illinois after leaving a group home, officials say.

Police south of Chicago confirmed that the 23-year-old woman involved in the Slender Man stabbing was found at a truck stop and taken into custody.

The girl's father called 911 in August saying his daughter was very ill. When first responders arrived, she appeared to be the size of a 6- to 8-year-old child, court documents said.
