Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent deemed New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani the leader of the Democratic Party during an interview on CNBC on Monday.

New York City’s elected officials could be the first beneficiaries of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s affordability agenda.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has now raised $2 million for his transition -- halfway to his goal of $4 million by his inauguration. Mamdani has raised the money in less than 20 days, putting him well on track to reaching his goal.

Zohran Mamdani’s platform shares far less with state socialism than with a foundational text of Catholic social teaching: “Rerum Novarum.”

I will always make the case for each and every person that calls this city home,” Mamdani said, while acknowledging he expects to have disagreements with Trump.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman said that he is directing cameras and security technology be installed along the New York City border in light of Zohran Mamdani's victory.
