One company using Animetrics’ FaceR API is Kairos, a new API provider offering facial recognition core capabilities as well as innovative applications such as workplace time tracking.

The facial recognition API is a micro service within Panasonic’s μSockets B2B IoT service which is currently available in Japan (see details below).

CyberLink FaceMe® Platform 5.4 further improves the process for developers to add facial recognition to applications for ID verification.

IDrive Face, as the service is called, includes the standard tools for detecting and analyzing multiple faces within a still image that are at the core of every face detection API.

Lambda Labs released its open-source Face API last year, and it's apparently being used by 1,000 developers including large companies. The Glass app would be based on that.

Face++ isn’t the only open tool available for facial recognition. Lambda Labs has a general face recognition API, as well as one tailored to Google Glass specifically.

Today, Orbeus sees over 3 million API calls for its freemium product, which is priced affordably in order to encourage sign-ups, with 40,000 free API calls (500 per day) available for free.
