An investigation has been launched into a fire brigade's leading officer after a complaint was made against him. Chief fire officer Peter Rickard has held the position at Cleveland Fire Brigade since last year, when he took over following the retirement of its previous boss.

The fire that destroyed Toronto’s historic St. Anne’s Church is being treated as a suspected arson, Toronto police confirmed Monday afternoon.

The London Fire Brigade says 25 fire engines are at the scene of the incident on Bridge Road, Southall. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
