A sheriff's office was set to become the first agency in the U.S. to deploy a self-driving patrol car, known as the Police Unmanned Ground (PUG) vehicle.

A car burglar in Atlantic County was caught Thursday night after he got locked in because of the vehicle’s faulty doors, officials said. Hamilton police were called to the LongHorn Steakhouse parking lot at 8:30 p.m. after the vehicle’s owner reported a burglary.
