A long-awaited jobs report offered a mixed picture of the US labor market. The economy added 119,000 jobs in September, an unexpected rebound for the labor market — but it comes as the overall economy shows signs of slowing.
The latest Fox News poll found 76% of voters view the national economy as not so good or poor, while 25% view it as excellent or good. When asked about their personal finance situation, 60% said it was not so good or poor while 40% said it was excellent or good.
“While challenging in the short term, even the longest shutdowns rarely alter long-term economic trends, and GDP (gross domestic product) impact is usually temporary,” said Clint Dishman, senior vice president and director of strategic investment advisors at BOK Financial.
