During the colder months, the National Weather Service can issue a range of alerts across Florida, from Frost Advisories to Extreme Cold Warnings, to help protect people, pets, plants and property.

A winter storm warning is in place for the eastern and western U.P. and most of the Lower Peninsula, mainly along the western snowbelt. A high wind warning is in effect for southeast Michigan because of the potential for 60 mph wind gusts. The Great Lakes are under storm, gale, and heavy freezing spray warnings.
