Messy winter weather — including snow, ice and strong winds — is putting more stress on already busy post-holiday travel plans.
On Monday at 6:32 p.m. EST an updated winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Tuesday at 1 a.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph and Berrien counties.
More than 20 states are under a Winter Storm Warning as forecasts include up to 60 inches of snow and a 63° plunge.
A winter storm watch alerts the public to the possibility of heavy snow, freezing rain or sleet. Winter Storm watches are usually issued 12 to 48 hours ahead of predicted severe weather.

Blizzard Warning issued in Texas as winter weather hits parts of state
After record-breaking heat during Christmas across much of Texas, conditions have turned much colder during the final days of 2025.
On Tuesday at 12:42 a.m. a winter storm warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Wednesday at 7 a.m. for Cayuga County.
The National Weather Service warned of whiteout conditions and possible blizzard conditions that could make travel impossible in some areas.
