SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA - the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a preliminary 2.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Gilroy Wednesday morning.

A series of earthquakes rattled California’s Bay Area near Gilroy on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The largest was a magnitude 4.0 quake centered about 8 kilometers east of Gilroy, followed by a magnitude 3.6 quake southeast of the city and a magnitude 2.7 event to the east.

All three of the earthquakes were centered within five miles of Gilroy, according to the U.S. Geological Survey

Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old and are looking for several other suspects following a heist at a cannabis greenhouse in Salinas and a police pursuit to Gilroy early Tuesday.

Two men have died following a shooting Sunday at a home in unincorporated Gilroy, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office. Just before 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Sheldon Avenue.

A short time later, Salinas police officers spotted one of the suspect vehicles — a white Tesla Model 3 — traveling northbound on Highway 101 at Laurel Drive, authorities said. The driver did not stop for the officers, who in turn began pursuing the Tesla.

GILROY, Calif. - Sheriff's officials in Santa Clara County say two men are dead after a domestic dispute in Gilroy on Sunday. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Sheldon Avenue shortly before 3:30 p.m. Witnesses told arriving deputies that a 68-year-old man was shot by a family member who then barricaded himself in the garage.
