Michigan doesn’t control its own destiny in making the College Football Playoff, but the Wolverines do have a path for earning an automatic bid.

Two spots in the Big Ten championship will be on the line in week 14, as will one more spot for bowl eligibility.

USC-Oregon is a pivotal matchup Saturday in Eugene, while Michigan's narrow win over Northwestern last week kept the Wolverines in the playoff conversation. USC's rain-soaked win over Iowa was effectively a playoff elimination game for the Trojans, and similar stakes accompany their Week 13 clash with the Ducks.

Among the one-loss cohort, USC has yet to play in the Big Ten championship, though it played in the Pac-12 championship four times (winning it 31–28 over Stanford in 2017). Oregon won the game last year, and Michigan won three in a row from 2021 to '23.

Nebraska played its final road match Saturday night, taking on No. 17 Indiana. The Huskers swept the Hoosiers, clinching the outright Big Ten title.
