For minors, the minimum hourly wage will be $11.67, 85% of the standard minimum wage. The tipped minimum wage will be $5.49 an hour, 40% of the standard minimum wage.

In 2026, Michigan’s minimum wage is set to rise by over $1. The minimum wage will climb from $12.48 to $13.73 an hour on Jan. 1. This is a jump of $1.25 an hour on Thursday under a new state law that sped up planned base rate increases but scaled back a bigger bump for tipped workers. This is part of the Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act .
New York’s increase for 2026 is the final half-dollar increase in a plan Gov. Kathy Hochul rolled out beginning in 2024. Starting in 2027, the state’s minimum wage will increase annually at a rate tied to the Consumer Price Index.
