Cloudflare describes itself as “one global cloud network unlike any other”. The cyber network keeps a lot of sites running safely. It helps sites to manage and secure internet traffic, ensures that the content of lots of sites can load safely, and protects sites from malicious attacks.
Parts of the web have stopped working, with 17 sites having crashed, as Cloudflare suffers technical glitches. Several high-profile websites, including Spotify, X, ChatGPT and Vinted, have been taken down as thousands of users report problems.
A widespread internet disruption is affecting popular platforms like X and ChatGPT due to issues with Cloudflare, a major content delivery network provider. Users are encountering error messages and are unable to access various websites and online services.
Cloudflare shared that it experienced an unusual spike in traffic before everything went haywire, and is deploying a fix.
“Visitors to websites such as X (formerly known as Twitter), ChatGPT and film reviewing site Letterboxd saw an error message that indicated that Cloudflare problems meant that the page could not show,” the Independent said.
