There are three ways to play multiplayer in "Minecraft: Java Edition:" through an online server, a LAN server, or a "Minecraft Realms" server.

Minecraft is a sandbox game that allows gamers to play with other players on LAN, online servers and realms. Survival multiplayer servers are some of the most fun servers to play on.

Choose Multiplayer from the menu on the home screen. If it's your first time, a warning can appear. Ignore any game-related cautions that are displayed. The Add Server option is located at the bottom.
