76ers’ hard-working Tyrese Maxey joins exclusive fraternity with 54-point, nine-assist performance
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey arguably is the NBA’s hardest-working player this season. His heavy workload sure isn’t hindering his production so far.
Tyrese Maxey had himself a career night on Thursday, dropping 54 points with nine assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks in a 123–114 overtime win against the Bucks. The 76ers guard went nuclear in 47 minutes on the court, shooting 18 of 30 from the field, which included 6 of 15 from deep and 12 of 14 from the free-throw line.
Since being drafted 21st overall in 2020, Tyrese Maxey has blossomed into a star-level talent for the Sixers. While he might be the youngest of the roster's star trio, he finds himself leading the charge daily. With Joel Embiid and Paul George still in and out of the lineup, the young guard has taken on the burden of a large role in the offense.
