DETROIT -- Tarik Skubal capped a brilliant outing with his 200th strikeout of the season, and Gleyber Torres drew a walk-off walk for the 500th RBI of his career as the Detroit Tigers beat the Houston Astros 1-0 in 10 innings on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
The Astros went 1-2-3 in the top of the second. Wenceel Perez, really having himself a nice later part of the season, hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the inning. He did get caught stealing, though, and the Tigers weren’t able to get another baserunner in the inning.

The Tigers are coming off a strong effort in the opening game of the series on Monday night. After a few scoreless innings, Detroit jumped out in front in the fourth before exploding for four runs in the following frame. The Tigers added four more runs in the seventh to pull away and grab a 10-0 victory.
Logan VanWey made seven appearances earlier in the season for the Astros and has been at Sugar Land. Tayler Scott was designated for assignment.
