The Michigan Wolverines are 8-2, 6-1 in the Big Ten heading into Saturday's mid-afternoon game against the Maryland Terrapins in College Park, giving coach Sherrone Moore's team a chance to accomplish all of its preseason goals.
Following the tight win over Northwestern, Michigan improved its standings in a lot of areas on ESPN's FPI. The Wolverines are now projected to go 9-3 on the season -- improving from 8.8-3.2 from last week. Michigan also has a 12.3% chance to win out, which is also improved.
Not what you want to hear from the committee with two games to go. Both teams are ranked ahead of the Wolverines, who are 8-2 and currently in a three-way tie for third place in the Big Ten. Michigan is the lowest ranked team of the bunch, though Oregon (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten) and USC (8-2, 6-1 Big Ten) are both set to play this Saturday in Eugene.
