A fast-moving winter storm shut down part of Interstate 94 in Minnesota Tuesday evening into the overnight hours Wednesday after snow caused several crashes and several caused semitrucks to jackknife.

The snow event will impact the Midwest from late Friday through Sunday morning, dropping a predicted 2 to 5 inches in the metro with heavier totals south.
