We Were All Thinking It, Nintendo Just Said It—The Switch Is Retiring. That Doesn’t Mean You Shouldn’t Buy One.

I've played all nine Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games that have released so far, and here is how I would rank them.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is out for the Switch 2 next week, and ahead of launch, Ubisoft has published a "deep dive" about the technical aspects of this port. Firstly, in both docked and handheld modes, the frame rate will target 30 fps. Resolution hasn't been revealed just yet.

According to a new leak, FromSoftware's upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive has been in development since before Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's launch.

The big edge this Switch has over the Switch 2 is that gorgeous OLED screen.

Update [Thu 27th Nov 2025, 4:30pm]: SHUTEN ORDER 's Switch 2 Edition and upgrade is now available today. Once again, it supports a higher frame rate, including variable frame rate between 60 to 120 fps in docked and portable modes. There is also Joy-Con 2 mouse controls in areas of the game where it's supported.

I'd get more use out of the Switch in handheld mode anyway! But I still wanted to play it on a bigger screen without the weirdness of holding two tiny, untethered controllers that barely fit my hands.
