More than 100 homes were damaged Monday afternoon after a tornado ripped through Harris County, Texas, Constable Mark Herman said in a Facebook post.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Damage has been reported after an apparent tornado touchdown in the Klein area of northwest Harris County on Monday. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tells KPRC 2 about reports they received of a possible tornado near Mills and Perry Road.

A confirmed tornado damaged northwest Houston homes Monday afternoon as a cold front brought multiple rounds of severe storms through the region.

A powerful tornado tore through Harris County on Monday, damaging over 100 homes and a portion of the Emergency Services campus. While no serious injuries were reported, emergency crews conducted extensive searches.

It was a close call for two ESD 11 employees who were in a small building when a tornado roared through the Klein area this afternoon.

A tornado swept from Cypress through Willowbrook to Jersey City in northeast Houston, causing major damage, uprooting trees and wrecking poles and structures.
