The son of the late conservationist Steve Irwin said winning the same accolade as his sister meant “everything to him.”

“I’ve known him for as long as I’ve been alive,” Irwin said of Crowe while attending the premiere of his new film Nuremberg alongside his mother Terri Irwin at the 2025 AFI Fest. “I have some very early memories, actually. Some of the earliest memories of me with my dad were also with Russell, which is really special.”

“This is my dad’s shirt,” Robert said while smiling. “I was going through his stuff and I found this shirt. It’s absolutely tattered and has holes and is missing buttons,” he added before turning around and showing off the lived-in piece. Robert then explained that he got the shirt “fixed up” and replaced the old buttons and patched up the rips.
