The New York Mets commenced what may be a large offseason overhaul Sunday night, trading their longest-tenured player, Brandon Nimmo, to the Texas Rangers for Marcus Semien.

The Mets and Rangers continued the early offseason trend of trading major leaguers for other major leaguers in an exchange of two aging ones with multiple years remaining on their deals.

The 35-year-old Semien won his second Gold Glove this season, even though he missed the final 5 1/2 weeks, not playing again after fouling a pitch off his foot Aug. 20.
