X has finally revealed its long-promised chat platform, which replaces the service's basic DM functionality with features more like the messaging capabilities on other mainstream apps.

X's updated messaging feature now allows file sharing and supports disappearing messages, with voice note support reportedly coming soon. Musk has also claimed a standalone XChat app is on the way.
