The Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer have compiled an 8-2 record throughout the course of the 2025 college football season thus far. Right now, they hold the No. 10 overall ranking in the nation. With the College Football Playoff right around the corner, Alabama appears to be a potential championship contender.

The latest College Football Playoff rankings have been released and Alabama took a tumble down to No. 10 after losing to Oklahoma, with Georgia taking their spot at No. 4.

Alabama (8-2, 6-1 SEC) won eight games in a row prior to facing Oklahoma and was the No. 4 team in the College Football Playoff rankings going into that matchup. Following the defeat, the Crimson Tide dropped by six places to No. 10, behind two other 8-2 teams: the Sooners and Notre Dame.

A spokesperson with the UAB Athletics Department said the incident happened at the university’s Football Operations Center.
