Brampton Fire Chief Andy Glynn said the fire broke out at a home on Banas Way at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday night. Eleven people were thought to live in the building.
While two people died at the scene, first responders rushed one child and three others to the hospital in critical condition, paramedics said. They are now stable.
The blaze is the latest incident at the facility that produces aluminum sheet metal for Ford vehicles including its top-selling F-150 pickup. A damaging fire broke out in September that shuttered production at the plant. Ford has said production interruptions tied to the fire will reduce its adjusted profit by as much as $2 billion this year.
The fire appears to be at a sawmill north of the Alex Fraser Bridge on Alaska Way. Smoke can be seen across the region and fire trucks and ambulances are on the scene.
