Gov. Tony Evers has ordered flags across Wisconsin to fly at half-staff for the fourth anniversary of the 2021 Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.

The U.S. Flag Code requires that flags be flown at half-staff after the death of a vice president, from the date of death until their interment. After the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney on November 3, flags across the country—including those at the White House and on federal buildings—were lowered starting November 4.

Hundreds of flags were removed from a memorial set up on the Boston Common that honored transgender people who had been killed in recent years. November is Transgender Awareness Month, and the 20th is International Day of Remembrance. More than 400 transgender pride flags were installed by the Queer Neighborhood Council on Sunday afternoon.
