Google cofounder Larry Page overtook Amazon’s Jeff Bezos to become the world’s third-wealthiest person Wednesday, as Alphabet’s stock surged by nearly 6% in the wake of strong third quarter earnings and the release of Google’s Gemini 3 AI model.

Google released Gemini 3 on Tuesday, rolling out what it calls its most advanced AI model across its entire ecosystem. The release also includes a new coding platform called Antigravity, and for the first time, Google integrated its newest Gemini model into Search on launch day.​

The Google App for Windows, sadly, isn't a resurrection of the long-dead Google Desktop, but it is an interesting tool that combines a simple local file search with results from your Google Drive and the web. It's worth playing around with if you're a dedicated Google user who still stores a lot of files on their computer.
