Intel (INTC) stock climbed more than 5% in pre-market trading Tuesday following the announcement that SoftBank Group (SFTBY) will take a $2 billion stake in the ailing chip giant. It's been a roller coaster few days for Intel.
SoftBank will buy $2bn worth of newly issued Intel common stock directly from the company, paying $23 a share, with the transaction subject to the usual closing conditions, Intel said in a statement on Monday. The investment would amount to about a 2 per cent stake in Intel.
