The NHL fined Florida's Anton Lundell $5,000 and Tampa Bay's Scott Sabourin $2,018.23 for their actions in Saturday's penalty-filled game between the Panthers and Lightning.

Hagel hasn’t played since the Lightning’s last game against Florida on Dec. 15, when he was knocked out of the matchup by an uncalled high elbow to the head area from Panthers defenseman Seth Jones. That marked the third time since April Hagel had been knocked out of a game by a Panthers player.

The Lightning fell behind at 5:37 of the first when the Panthers benefited from two fortunate bounces around the Tampa Bay net. The puck twice caromed off Lightning players before ending up on the stick of Eetu Luostarinen in the slot. He swatted it in to open the scoring.

On the day his club returned from its holiday break to meet the Florida Panthers, defenseman J.J. Moser, who has three goals and 12 points, signed a long-term contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, securing an eight-year deal worth $6.

The Florida Panthers (20-14-2, eighth in Eastern Conference) host the Tampa Bay Lightning (20-13-3, sixth in Eastern Conference) at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. Florida earned a 5-2 road victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in its last game on Dec. 23.
