Lando Norris Makes F1 Title Vow
Digest more
As Oscar Piastri’s title hopes narrow heading into Qatar, rivals believe the McLaren star lost trust in his team months ago — and some no longer see him as a realistic championship threat. Oscar Piastri arrives in Qatar still 24 points behind teammate Lando Norris — the same margin as before Las Vegas after both McLarens were disqualified.
Max Verstappen believes Oscar Piastri would have told McLaren to 'f off' if he had been ordered to support Lando Norris in F1 title battle.

McLaren reveal 'concerning' moment they 'knew' Piastri and Norris would be disqualified
McLaren have revealed the 'concerning' moment they 'knew' both Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris would be disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix following an internal investigation. The papaya driver duo crossed the line in P2 (NOR) and P4 (PIA) last weekend after title rival Max Verstappen took the chequered flag in Saturday's night race.
Max Verstappen has quipped that he "wouldn't have rocked up" in Oscar Piastri's position had McLaren tried to assign him
McLaren insists there is still "no reason" to back Lando Norris over Oscar Piastri despite the looming threat of Max Verstappen in the F1 title race.
You can't do a better job than allowing them to race as well. Because why would you suddenly now say that Oscar wouldn't be allowed to anymore? I mean, if that was said to me, I would have not rocked up.

Zak Brown’s new book arrives just as McLaren closes in on F1 glory
It’s fitting that Penguin Publishing Group released Zak Brown’s Seven Tenths of a Second this week, just before the F1 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Brown is the CEO of McLaren Racing, whose Formula 1 team may wrap up the 2025 F1 World Drivers Championship in Vegas this weekend.
McLaren finished with Lando Norris second, and Oscar Piastri fourth, but both were excluded post-race in Las Vegas due to excessive wear of the skid plank. Under Formula 1 regulations the skid planks must be 9mm thick, but Norris’ car failed the checks by 0.12mm at its thinnest point, and Piastri’s car by 0.26mm.
