Driving conditions could be hazardous in parts of Michigan as a winter storm builds up for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Two winter systems are coming together across the northern U.S. this week, bringing the potential for heavy snow and strong winds across the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest.
The entire West Michigan lakeshore is expected to be a flashpoint for storm-force winds as they hit as high as 57 mph. The region is under a high wind advisory until late Thursday night. Despite the hazardous conditions, West Michiganders flocked to Holland State Park to see the resulting 12- to 16-foot waves as they crashed in.
