ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided a reason for the San Francisco 49ers waiving the guarantees on Brandon Aiyuk's contract.

The NFL has announced 26 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026, and former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is among them. Gore’s legendary 16-year career included stints with the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets, but it was with the 49ers that he truly left his mark.

With a win tonight, the 49ers’ odds of making the playoffs move from 83 percent from 89 percent in The Athletic’s NFL Playoff Simulator. With the Rams firmly atop the NFC West (and, now, the entire NFC), San Francisco is overwhelmingly likely to make the playoffs as a wild-card team.

In Houston, the Texans pulled off the shocker of Week 12 in a 23-19 win over the Bills on Thursday night. Although C.J. Stroud was out, the Texans came away with the upset thanks in large part to a defense that sacked Josh Allen eight times.
