Nintendo has announced plans to fully acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, a developer it has previously used to bolster its work on key franchises such as Splatoon and Pokémon.

The AIR SNES are a heavily customized version of the Nike Air Max 90 inspired by other gaming-themed sneakers like Bull Airs’ ShoeBoys, but Bonzanini’s creation doubles as a functional retro console.

Japanese platform holder Nintendo has said it plans to acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore. In a release to investors, the Mario giant said that it had entered into an agreement to buy 80% of the developer's shares on April 1st, 2026, before coming back for the remaining shares at another point in the future.

Nintendo has made no official announcement to the buying public about its plans for sunsetting the Switch. Beyond the financial report released on November 5, 2025, it hasn’t said much publicly at all about it, and so we have to look to the past to gain our best idea of what the Switch’s near-future will look like.
