Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent visit to the US for the Alaska Summit, his first in a decade, has sparked intrigue beyond his discussions with President Trump.

US President Donald Trump said he’s begun arranging a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin after a summit today with Zelensky and European leaders at the White House.

The U.S. president also said he would back European security guarantees for Ukraine as he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders.

The meeting also is a test of America’s relationship with its closest allies after the European Union and United Kingdom accepted Trump’s tariff hikes.
