One horse in Rocky View County, Alberta, was recently euthanized after contracting equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1). The horse lived at a boarding facility, where 50 horses have been exposed.

The cases are located in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, and South Dakota.
