One of the biggest winners of last week was Louisville. The Cardinals jumped six spots to No. 6 after defeating in-state rival Kentucky 96-88 behind the brilliance of star freshman Mikel Brown Jr. The former five-star recruit scored a team-high 29 points in the win over the Wildcats. Kentucky dropped three spots to No. 12 after the loss.
The college basketball season is heating up, and the latest AP Top 25 men's ranking is finally here. It has been a wild week of upsets, statement wins, and rivalry matchups that have significantly shaken up the board.
Here's an updated look at the men's college basketball top 25 following the release of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and AP Top 25:
Virginia Tech should be glad it lost 34-14 at Florida State, even if that means it is back in the Bottom 25 this week. Had the Hokies waltzed into Doak Campbell Stadium and defeated the Seminoles, it would have dropped FSU to 4-6 and may have increased Mike Norvell's chances of getting fired before the end of the season.
The new AP Top 25 women's college basketball poll is out. The Michigan Wolverines, up eight spots, and the TCU Horned Frogs, up seven, both vaulted into the top 10. The West Virginia Mountaineers moved into the poll this week after defeating the then-No. 15 Duke Blue Devils on Friday. Duke fell out of the Top 25.

AP Top 25 Extra Points: No. 22 North Texas ends FBS’ longest ranking dry spell and re-enters CFP mix
North Texas is in The Associated Press college football poll for the first time since 1959. The Mean Green are No. 22 with a 9-1 record.
8. Oklahoma (11): The title of "best two-loss team" gets a new contender with Oklahoma's road win against Alabama. The Sooners have wins against the teams ranked No. 4, No. 18 and No. 21 in last week's AP Top 25 poll. Ever since laying an egg offensively in the Red River Rivalry against Texas, this team is 3-1 with the only loss coming to Ole Miss.
